With spring now in full swing on the Gold Coast and a current average water temperature of 22° heading upwards to 26° in summer, now is the time to dust of those swimmers and head out into the crystal clear waters of the Broadwater and Gold Coast beaches.
We have compiled a list of the ‘must-do’ Gold Coast watersports activities for you to experience over the coming months. Our local experts have also worked hard to dig deep and provide you with some insiders tip’s on making the most of your watersports adventure.
This is no resort circuit! The team at Jet Ski Safaris will take you off the beaten track on a guided, small group tour through the Broadwater with its sandy beaches, narrow tidal passages and mangrove channels. Covering up to 80km with 1hr, 1.5hr and 2.5hr safari options. The 1.5hr and 2.5hr also include a refreshments break at Tipplers Bar on South Stradbroke Island.
If you take the 1.5hr tour on a Sunday morning, there is an extended stay at Tipplers South Stradbroke Island and the option for you enjoy the all you can eat buffet breakfast on offer at the resort for an additional $17 per person.
When it was constructed in 1985, Wave Break Island’s primary purpose was to capture storm waves and protect the western foreshore of the Broadwater. Since then it has become a recreational hotpot for boaties and kayakers and is home to over 50 different species of fish and other marine life, making it one of the top spots for snorkelling and scuba diving on the Gold Coast.
With more than 50,000 dives on the Gold Coast in the past 20 years, Queensland Scuba Diving are the underwater experts and offer everything from snorkelling through to PADI Instructor certification.
