Father’s Day on the Gold Coast
Spending Father’s Day on the Gold Coast in 2019 and not sure what to do? Why not get out and about and explore the beautiful Gold Coast Broadwater.
In 2019, Father’s Day falls on Sunday, September 1st. September on the Gold Coast generally has beautiful crisp weather as we emerge from our Winter slumber and the weather starts to heat up again.
Here are some great suggestions to make your Gold Coast Father’s Day memorable in 2019.
Start the day with a relaxed breakfast. It’s up to you if you want to dust off the apron and whip up a delicious omelette at home or take the easy, and my preferred option, of taking Dad out and letting someone else do the cooking, and cleaning. There are some lovely cafes with picturesque views across the Broadwater at Main Beach and Labrador. Or why not pick up some smashed avo on toast and a takeaway coffee from Get Coffee on Main and enjoy in the park or beach at Main Beach.
It is Father’s Day after all so time to give Dad an experience he will never forget. Paradise Jet Boating provides the ultimate blend of sightseeing and adventure with their 55 minute Broadwater Adventure rides travelling almost 35km from Main Beach to Sovereign Islands and back. Jump on board with Dad and don’t forget to take home your photos or video (which comes on a novel jetboat shaped USB) to keep the memory alive, and provide the proof that yes you did it! Paradise Jet Boating tours depart hourly from 9am to 4pm from Mariners Cove Marina. The team at Paradise Jet Boating love Dad’s too and are running an awesome promotion, Dad rides at kids prices!

And so ends another day. I’m sure whatever you decide to do with your Dad this father’s day, he will love it. After all, the most important thing in life is time, and spending it with those we love. Why not combine this with some fun and adventure on the Gold Coast Broadwater, this beautiful natural asset we are blessed to have on our doorstep. Happy Father’s Day to all the Dad’s, Step-Dad’s and Granddad’s, we really do appreciate all that you do for us!
Why not re-live your jet boat adventure over some lunch. The iconic Fisherman’s Wharf Tavern, also at Mariners Cove offers a casual dining experience with seating available inside or outside on the deck overlooking the Marina. Alternatively, head on up to Pete’s Seafood, just past Palazzo Versace hotel and pick up some take away fish and chips and go down to the Spit to eat, relax and soak up some sunshine. Whilst at the Spit, take a stroll out along the seawall and enjoy an ice cream from the Seaway Kiosk which also displays interesting information and memorabilia on the Main Beach sand pumping jetty. What a relaxing way to spend the afternoon.
