Brisbane

Being the capital city of Queensland and centrally located in the middle of the south east corner, Brisbane is the perfect location to use as your base to explore the region.

Within an hour’s drive you can be walking the beaches of the Sunshine Coast, surfing the waves of Surfers Paradise or exploring boutique wineries and cheese factories in the either the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast hinterlands.

Don’t forget, Brisbane city with its riverfront restaurants and attractions makes for a great day out exploring cultural icons such as the Queensland Museum, Southbank parklands or the newly developed foodie hotspot of Howard Smith Wharves where your meal comes with an amazing riverfront location and views of the city.

If a trip south of the border is on your ‘things to do’ list, it’s only a little over a 1 hour drive down the Pacific Motorway to cross the border into NSW. In no time at all you will be eating fish and chips watching local street buskers or surfers in the world-famous Byron Bay.

Aquaduck

Travelling to the Gold Coast from Brisbane for the day means a commute in each direction which can leave you short on time. This means that if you wanted to do a city tour and a river cruise most of your day would be gone. If this is you, then a ride on the famous Aquaduck is perfect for you.

Aquaduck provides an amazing and unique tour. The Aquaduck is an amphibious vehicle touring through the main areas of Surfers Paradise and Main Beach, before driving straight into the water and turning into a boat.  This 1-hour tour spends approx 20mins on land and 40mins in the water.

There is a tour guide providing a full English commentary and an on-board audio guide in 7 other languages.

Surfing

Whether you’re a local or just visiting, one of the best ways to immerse yourself into the Surfers Paradise environment and Gold Coast culture and lifestyle is through one of Australia’s favourite past-times, surfing.

Learning to surf is easy with Get Wet Surf School who have providing surf lessons since 2004. Andrew and Kerri Jekyll pride themselves on providing their lessons where the locals learn. They run their lessons in the safe waters of Main Beach just north of Surfers Paradise, the very same area they taught their own three children to surf. Don’t worry if you don’t have a car as a free courtesy shuttle is available from the centre of Surfers Paradise.

Your experienced and knowledgeable instructor will have you up on the board and hanging ten in no time.

Indoor Skydiving

Have you ever wanted to know what it feels like to skydive, but are not crazy enough to jump out of a perfectly good plane? Well now you can without spending an absolute fortune, or without hurtling towards the earth hoping that your parachute is going to open.

Indoor skydiving with iFLY Surfers Paradise makes this safe & fun for the whole family.
